17.5 weeks

I meant to take a picture earlier this week, but the past two weeks have been crazy busy at work and I am running late every morning.

My belly definitely looks a little bigger. I can also tell because my belly button is getting a little smaller! The last two weeks I have become extremely tired and hungry. I'm not sure if the tired is because of work or not, but as soon as I hit the couch around 8:30 pm, its hard for me to move anywhere after that. I dont know how my mom did it when she was pregnant with my sister and had to take care of me. She was working long hours, seven days a week. After work, she would have to make dinner and take care of me! My mom was "super mom". I dont make dinner because I am too tired by the time I get home and my mom brings my lunch for me every day. I told Adam starting next week, I am going to try to perfect one dish a week. We cant be eating out every night once we have kids.

I have also reached a new definition of hunger. I eat so much, I've freaked my dad out. For breakfast, I like to eat in two's. Two eggs, two pieces of bacon, two breakfast breads (bagels or biscuits, not toast cause its too thin), fruit and a glass of chocolate soy milk. That will take me to about 11:30am-noonish and for lunch I have rice, veggies, some type of meat and maybe a slice of pizza. I get hungry again at 4pm and have a snack before dinner at 7pm. Dinner must include a salad as a side. I'm scared to step on the scale! I think the unhealthiest thing I eat is probably pizza. I typically drink about 6-8 bottles of water per day. I read drinking lots of water helps prevent constipation and I fear constipation like its the plague or something.

In 11 days, we get to find out what we are having. Most importantly, I will get to the see baby again and be reassured that everything is ok. I think they need to make some type of "at home monitor" that you can buy at a reasonable price and use it to find the heartbeat of the baby. Going an entire month without being reassured that everything is ok is just too hard!

It's not like the movies/tv

Here we are, week 16, and according to thebump.com, I should start feeling the baby move. What does baby movement feel like? Well, in my mind, because of the way they show it on tv and in movies, I was thinking it was going to feel like a "thud". That's not until later on. So, I googled it and found that it could feel like gas, muscle contractions, and nervous twitches. All of which I have been feeling recently, but I had no idea it could be the baby moving! So am I extremely gassy or do I have a baby that just cant lay still?

At week 16, the baby is now the size of an avocado and can hear your voice! This past weekend, Adam and I went to B&N and bought one of my all time favorite childhood books, "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shel Silverstein. Last night we took turns reading poems to the baby while classical music was playing the the background. Adam thought it was kind of silly, but he humored me and went along with it. I dont know if it actually helps, but at least the baby gets to hear Adam's voice and we got to laugh at the poems together.

Here's the "bump" at week 16:

I dont even feel like you can see a difference. Here's what I see everytime I look down:

I cant believe how huge that looks! My back pain got go bad, I finally broke down and went to see a chiropractor. I'm not sure why I've never gone before because they do wonders. I will continue going twice a week until my back stops hurting. Is it weird that I love hearing all the popping sounds.

Nothing too exciting is happening. I feel like I should start preparing for the baby by reading books, researching websites and baby things, but the only thing I've done so far is look for a crib. No reading. I feel a little behind.

15 weeks

Just randomness for today's blog. Not a whole lot going on. We are at 15 weeks and according to thebump.com, the baby is about the size of a naval orange. I love how they compare the baby to foods that we eat.

I'm not sure the bump looks that much bigger than before, but from my point of view, looking down, it looks a lot bigger. I cant wait for the little bump to pop out so I'll actually start looking pregnant and not just fat. I have one pair of skinny jeans left that I can fit into. I bought these right after I found out I was pregnant so they are a size bigger than normal. Currently, they are being held together with a hair tie since I cant sit down with them buttoned comfortably. But hey! At least they still zip up. I am having problems sleeping at night because of my back. Since Jan. is a busy work month for us, I am planning to start yoga in Feb. in hopes that it will help with the back pain.

Here is a typical conversation between Adam and I when trying to figure out what we're eating for dinner:

The green is me. You hear about pregnant women and their cravings, but I've got none! Most of the time, I let Adam pick where we go for dinner. Once we get there, I usually pick the lightest thing on the menu....either a salad, noodles, or pizza/pasta. This is basically an everyday occurrence.

Here is a pic of our little Chloe Bear on her way to doggie day camp:Poor little Chloe was stuck inside all day yesterday because of the rain and snow. Since she's still a puppy, when this dog does not get any exercise, she starts causing trouble around the house. Hopefully she comes home a tired little pup tonight.

14 weeks and counting

I went to the doctor today for a tummy check. Quick in and out check up and we got to hear the heartbeat again. I get so excited every time I hear that heartbeat. In about a month, we get to find out the sex. I cant wait! Adam is not as excited because he has no preference, he is happy either way. I don't really have a preference, but (1) I cant wait to start buying furniture and decorating and (2) we get to see the baby again! I seriously never thought I would be excited about decorating the baby's room. I thought I was just going to stick a crib and a chair in there and be done with it.

I am finally over all the uncomfortableness from the first trimester. Sometimes, I feel a little sick around 8pm. There definitely is no more falling asleep on the couch right after dinner. In fact, sometime I have a hard time falling asleep. I am still the pickiest eater ever. Nothing ever sounds good to me unless its fruit or a smoothie. I once spent over an hour in WholeFoods walking up and down every single aisle, only to walk out with blueberries, raspberries and a pineapple. All the foods I use to like, especially sweets, I no longer like. But, best of all, I'm not going to the bathroom 4 times a night...now its only two! I am still hungry all the time, just not eating as much as I was the first couple of months. The nurse so kindly said my weight today was normal and that the last time it was a little bit scary! The nurse also said I should be gaining about one to two pounds a week now. I could totally take advantage of this IF I still enjoyed food as much as I use to.

It's still so hard to believe that its really happening. I have a baby growing inside of me! Here is my belly at 13 weeks. It's actually a little bit bigger now. I can still hide it and I am hoping to hold off for two more months before I start buying clothes, but I realize that can be a little unrealistic if I am gaining a pound to two a week now.

One would think that with my love of clothes, I would have bought an entire new wardrobe. Well, not only did I lose a love for food, but also for fashion. It just means I can splurge on baby stuff!
