5 months!

How can G be 5 months already?!?! My sister just got back her wedding pictures and we talked about how much he has changed. That was just a month and a half ago! He looked like a little baby then.
Now he's a little man:

Grayson is a drooling fool. I change his clothes at least 3 times a day. He is also rolling around like crazy. He's not very good at rolling from Point A to Point B, but he is constantly rolling from tummy to back or back to tummy. He doesnt stay still.

Getting ready to flip:I think he is trying to crawl, but I'm not entirely sure. I feel like its a little bit too soon. I am constantly finding him in this position rocking back and forth:

Getting him down for a nap is still a challenge, but at least he naps. We just moved to a 4 hr schedule and I hope it continues that way for at least a few more days. Then I'm sure he'll throw in a fussy day because of teething or something else. He also gets solids twice a day. We've tried avocados, bananas, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, oatmeal and rice cereal. This kid just wants to eat and eat. No wonder he is so big! Sometimes I wonder if I dont limit his food, will he push the spoon away on his own?

He is also starting to learn how to sit:

So excited for Christmas. I may or may not have gone a little overboard buying him some clothes ;)

19 and 20 weeks

I am going to try my best to blog about Grayson every week so if there is a next baby I will kind of know what to expect. The last two weeks have been a little stressful. Grayson's a pretty happy baby. He doesnt get fussy until he is overtired or hungry like all babies do. He's also been sleeping pretty well since he was 2 months old. At two months he would sleep 8 hours and then around 3 months, he started sleeping 11 hours a night. All that has changed. The last two weeks, he's woken up a couple of times in the middle of the night. He also has started waking up around 5:30 am. The only thing that I can think of that is making him wake up earlier is he started taking longer naps. He takes about two- 2 hr naps and 2-45 min naps if we're at home. He use to never sleep past 30 mins. Grayson has also been rolling over. First, he learned tummy to back and then back to tummy. For some reason, he decided yesterday he was going to start rolling from tummy to back when I put him in his crib. He cant sleep on his back. He wants to play with his feet and grab at his shirt. He'll do that until he is overtired and then scream and cry. He did that for every nap and bedtime yesterday. We had to let him cry it out for an hour last night. I hope this only last a couple of days.

Here is a picture of Grayson at two months on his tummy with his blue superman shirt:

Here he is in the same shirt at 4 and a half months:
Cant believe how different he looks!

Four months!

Can't believe Grayson is 4 months! I know I say that every month. Time is flying. I didn't even realize Thanksgiving is next week.

At four months, Grayson is weighing in at 15 lbs 13 ozs and 25 inches. He is what you call a healthy baby :)

The pediatrician gave us the go ahead for solids. We started out with avocado and rice cereal. He is still trying to get the hang of eating from a spoon.

Most of it ends up on him. Speaking of pediatrician. We switched and I am so happy. At the old doctor I always felt nervous, uncomfortable and stupid for asking so many questions. Our new doctor plays with Grayson and spends so much time making sure we understand everything and have all our questions answered. Thank goodness!

He loves playing with his feet!

Goodbye October!

This is going to be a long one. I wanted to get a post in before October was over because this time last year our lives were so different. So what if its the very last day of October.

October 2010

Last October, we still had the yogurt store and we were in the process of selling it. I remember going in the mornings and feeling sick and not wanting to eat. At one point, I remember my aunt telling me I had lost weight. At that time, I thought it was nerves. Nervous that the sale of the store would not go through.

Our prayers were answered and the sale went through. God had a bigger plan for us. Right after we signed all the papers, I found out I was pregnant. I took three pregnancy tests just to make sure. I remember how nervous I was just calling the doctor to make an appointment. The first appointment wasnt for another month....Dec 1! I couldnt believe they were going to make me wait that long.

This time last year, my sister just got engaged. Her then boyfriend proposed in Central Park. I was so happy for her, but begged and pleaded with her to have her wedding in 2012. As of last Saturday, she became a married woman and I cried pretty much the entire time we were at the church.

October 2011

Grayson is almost 4 months! He loves to kick his legs and move his arms. He loves to talk and has found his high pitch squeal and boy does he love to squeal. It was cute at first, but when you hear it in a cry, it can be annoying. He has rolled over from tummy to back, but not the other way. He tries, but keeps getting distracted with his hands. His hands. I can never keep his hands out of his mouth which drives this OCD mom crazy. I'm thinking germs, germs, germs. Slowly, but surely, I am learning how to let go of my OCD-ness. I have to. We have a dog and Grayson will become more and more mobile. He also loves to grab his feet. We are still working on napping and pooping. Apparently, he doesnt like to nap or poop. 12 days has been the longest beating out 11 days of no poop. I have been reassured that this is perfectly fine, but at his next check up, I will ask again. He also likes to grab things (toys, burp cloths, blankets) and stick them in his mouth.
Grayson grabbing his feet

Gig em! Look at those rolls!
My sister got married on the 22nd! I dont have pictures yet. Didnt have free hands. My cousin flew in and brought her daughter. Grayson and Savannah are 10 days apart. Both babies are half Chinese and half American.
All bundled up for the cold. His first time in jeans!Grayson and his friend, Larkin. They are just a couple of days apart!

Next project....update the look of this blog.

Grayson's world

Lots of things going on in Grayson's little world. He's decided to be a chronic cat napper which is driving me bonkers. He has never napped well, but I used to get at least two one hour long naps throughout the day. Now, I am lucky if he goes past 30 mins. I am having a hard time accepting this because I like structure. I like to plan my days around his naps and now I cant do that anymore.

Not only did Grayson find his thumb, but he has found his hands! I cant keep them out of his mouth!
He also scoots around so much at night, that many times he ends up screaming because he is stuck like this:
Grayson is full of laughs and giggles. One of these days I am going to get it on video and learn how to upload them onto to blogger.

Now for some mommy nevers:

I never thought I would want to be a stay at home mom. Even in that first month with Grayson, I didnt think I would want to stay at home doing the same thing every day, but now I do. I love spending my days with my little man and I cant imagine being away from him for the whole day. I love every smile, laugh and cry from him and I cant stand to miss those.

I never thought I would be a mom who would join a baby bootcamp class. We workout at the mall with the babies in the stroller. It makes sense though. If the husband is away at work all day, how am I going to get a workout in if he is too small for daycare at the gym. By the way, the workouts are tough. Its time to kick my workout and eating healthy up a notch now that the sister's wedding is 20 days away.

Now for the biggest ''never" shocker, I never thought I would be this obsessed with his poop!!! I get so excited and scream with joy when he poops. They are huge blowouts too. He had been a pretty consistent pooper with one exception during his very first week at home that required a visit to the doctor. Two weeks ago, he went 2 days without pooping and then ELEVEN WHOLE DAYS without pooping. We tried everything....karo syrup, pear juice, apple plum juice, qtips and themometers up his you know where and nothing worked. Finally we just let nature take its course and after 11 days, he had a HUGE BLOWOUT. Then he went 5 days. I hope he gets a little more consistent. These blowouts are hard to manage when you are out in public or when you're about to walk out the door.

Bottle strike

Dear Grayson

Please end the strike and resume all bottle feeding. I promise it will make both our lives a lot easier.

2 months

Grayson turned two months last Friday. How did 62 days go by so fast? I feel like it was just yesterday, Adam and I were driving to the hospital. I still remember the nerves and excitement I was feeling that night. Grayson is a pretty happy baby except when he is hungry or tired. Some days he naps well and some days he doesnt like to nap. He's also decided that he doesnt want to nurse continuously or take a bottle so it makes feedings a little bit difficult. I hope this is just a phase and that it will pass...SOON! I love, LOVE his smiles and laughs. At his 2 month check up, he was a whopping 13 lbs 4 oz and 23.5 inches. Not sure how I am going to carry him anymore in the car seat. He is so alert now! Looking forward to all the new adventures this month is going to bring.

Zumba

I use to think Zumba was silly. That is until yesterday. I was looking for a class to ease back into working out and they were only offering Zumba Labor day morning. As soon as the instructor turned on the music, I knew I was in the right place. It was like I had walked in a dance party. It was good for this new mommy's soul. It was exactly what I needed. Where else can you find people of all ages (the oldest I swear was a man who was at least in his late 60s) getting down and shakin' it diiiirty? The old man, got down and dirty on the floor. Gross, yet humorous. The class was packed so I was stuck in the back making up my own moves half the time. Before I go back, I am going to YouTube some videos and learn the steps and maybe take a couple of shots to loosen up. Its been awhile since those bootay shakin' days.

In baby news, I have been fighting the pacifier and thumb sucking for awhile now. Once I found this video, I gave in. Here is Grayson, at the hospital still, sucking on his thumb. Edit that, I dont know how to upload videos here. I tried, but FAILED.

Here he is 8 weeks later:
Once last picture. This is currently my favorite picture of him:

Things I Wish I Would Have Known

There are no less than ten parenting books lying around the house. Some I have read three or four times already, some I havent even touched. We also took a baby basics class at the hospital and I took a breastfeeding class during my hospital stay. I wish someone had mentioned some of these things:

I wish someone would have told me about the "baby blues". Not quite postpartum depression, but I had such a hard time dealing with the first couple of weeks. I cried everyday for about 3 weeks. I cried because he cried...ALL.THE.TIME. I cried because I was stressed. I cried because I missed life before baby. I cried because I thought I would love being a mommy right away, but I didnt. I cried because I loved him so much. I cried because Adam and I were getting into these little disagreements. I cried because I read a sad story, watched a sad tv show. I just cried at everything. I cried because I felt bad about all the things I just mentioned. It took me awhile to realize that it was okay to cry. At my six week check up, my doctor told me about 50% of women experience the baby blues.

Everyone says boys are easier than girls, but I think they mean when they are older. As one of the nurses put it, "boys are greedier than girls" when its comes to food. I had heard stories about parents having to wake their girls to eat. That was not the case with Grayson. He wanted to eat all the time.

Everyone also tells you hard it is the first two weeks, but I wished they would have emphasized the word HARD.

As natural as breastfeeding may be, I wish someone would have told me it may not come to you naturally. From no supply to over supply, rapid let down, engorgement, I cant tell you how many times I called the lactation consultants including one late night call during after hours. Almost 7 weeks later and I'm still not confident about breastfeeding.

I wish while they were teaching about swaddling they would have mentioned that your baby may not like to be swaddled. Here I am thinking all babies like to be swaddled and I have the one child that doesnt. He fought the swaddle from the beginning.

Finally, I wish someone would show me how to grocery shop with a car seat. Not sure this guy was too happy about his surroundings:

Milestones

In all the baby books and websites, they talk about milestones. What about mommy milestones?
I had my 6 week postpartum checkup today and everything looked good. Another mommy milestone, I nursed for the first time in public, with a cover of course. I should have practiced at home first because I was all over the place with the cover and I'm pretty sure Grayson didnt get a nice, full feeding. Pretty embarrassing, since another girl came and sat down and nursed her son in half the time it took me. Oh, and in between sides, the little one decided to poop all over himself and me. One last milestone, I realized I need to let go of all the parenting book advice I've been reading and googling and just focus on Grayson. Not all babies are going to go by the books and I just need to do what I think is best for him.

Enough about me, lets get to the cutie. Here is Grayson doing some tummy time. This was taken about 1 min before he realized how hard it was and started wailing:

Tummy time is the perfect transition into a nap because it wears him out and after some crying, he just passes out. I've been letting him CIO for naps, but Monday night, was the first night Adam and I actually let him cry it out for bedtime and boy, it was the hardest thing ever. In the past, we've let him cry and then eventually we'd break down and go pick him up. We decided to let him CIO for night time because the paci game was getting old. He would spit it out constantly and start crying so we'd have to go in about every 2 mins to stick that thing back in his mouth. So Monday night, he cried for about 1.5 hrs. Not the entire time. He'd cry about 20 mins, then slept some, then woke up and cried 20 more mins and then slept some more. We'd tried to go in and soothe him without picking him up, but nothing worked. The next night, I told Adam I couldnt take it anymore and we set a timer for 15 mins. Before that 15 mins was up, he was out. But he did wake up once and cried for about 10 mins and then he was out for good. The third night, we put him down and not a peep. We watched the video monitor like a hawk. He was awake for about an hour just looking around and finally fell asleep. Last night, I fed him, bathed him and before I could finish our bedtime story, he started wailing. I finished the story (with him crying in the background), stuck the paci in his mouth and left. I watched him on the monitor, just waiting for him to cry. He did spit out the paci, but no tears. Then he passed out. I am hoping this is a trend.

I go back and forth on the crying it out. Some books I've read said letting them CIO can emotionally damage them when they are this young and other books say its ok. Thats why I've stopped reading all books. I figure the younger they are, the less they will remember. When he is crying, I always ask Adam, "do you think he is going to remember this?". Sometimes, I feel like the worst mom in the entire world for letting him cry bloody murder. So when he is awake, I shower him with lots and lots of love. I think I am attached to him more than he is attached to me.

Here he is waking up. He's wrapped in what they call the "miracle blanket". Supposedly, they sleep longer. I'm still waiting for that miracle. Look at those cheeks and that double chin!!!!

Happy 1 month Grayson!

I cant believe it's already been a month! This little guy is becoming a chunky monkey. At a month he is 22 inches and 10.5 lbs! We went to the doctor yesterday and for the first time, he didnt cry! Since we've been doing the eat/play/sleep routine and added the paci, we've cut the crying down quite a bit. He still cries when I put him on his tummy, but then falls asleep soundly. He also cries during his "witching"/fussy hour which is usually around 8pm EVERY SINGLE DAY. This is the only time we'll pick him up and hold him and put him to sleep. He is eating about every 3-4 hours. He still doesnt like to be swaddled and he still doesnt look the least bit Asian. I am hoping those traits come in soon.

This little guy melts my heart.

Here is a picture from his newborn (2 weeks) photo shoot:

Can you believe how tiny he was????

3 weeks

We're a little past three weeks, but I didnt have time to blog. I thought we were on some kind of semi-schedule, but then Grayson decided to hit a growth spurt. I nearly lost my mind! How did I know it was a growth spurt? Google. What did we do before Google? I google everything about babies now.....why does my baby hate swaddling, gas, constipation, spitting up, growth spurts, sleeping, etc. So back to the growth spurt. It was like we were back at the first week again. He wanted to eat every 1.5 hr-2 hr. He takes about 40-45 min to nurse depending on how awake he is, plus diaper change, some awake time, it left me about 45 mins to myself....if I was that lucky. This happened all through the night too. His growth spurt lasted about 5 days.

This little guy is becoming a chunky monkey. The crying it out is working out well....when he sleeps on his tummy which is a BIG NO-NO in baby world. I'm not sure what to do about it. He loves sleeping on his tummy and hates swaddling. I dont know what to do. I'm caught between wanting to sleep and do stuff around the house, but I dont end up getting much sleep or anything done because I'm constantly checking on him.

Sleeps like an angel.

2 weeks

Not sure why, but I woke up this morning and decided today was the day to let little Gray cry it out. Before I get into that, lets back track.

Everyone warns you that the first two weeks are the hardest, but honestly, I did not expect it to be near h-e-double hockey sticks. WOW. Adam brought up a very good point to me yesterday. We, mostly I, spent so much time obsessing about the labor, birth and recovery that I didnt spend any time thinking about what to do when he gets here. I wonder if I had spent more time reading books, would I have been some what more prepared. I also wonder, if men were put in the position of giving birth, recovering and then also having to take care of a newborn, would they be able to handle it?

Adam and I like to joke that Grayson is high maintenance. In the two weeks that we've been home, we've been to the doctor's office 5 times with 2 more visits this week. That first week was the hardest. He cried all the time. I wasnt able to breastfeed and he was losing weight quick and was borderline on having to bring him in to the hospital for jaundice. I was also in a lot of pain and sleep deprived. I am a believer that our bodies are capable of breastfeeding and so when my milk supply had not come in, I felt like I couldnt provide for my son. It was the worst feeling in the world. Thank goodness for the lactation consultants at Presby Dallas. They have a free hotline you can call. I realized I was stressed and not eating which contributed to the problem.

The start of week 2 wasnt much better. I was still learning how to breastfeed and Grayson was still not sleeping at night. By the middle of the week, he decided he wanted to eat every hour and a half. By the end of week 2, we got the breastfeeding down, he was sleeping at night waking up every 2.5 hrs for feeding, but not sleeping at all during the day which is why I am letting him cry it out now for naptime during the day.

Crying it out probably hurts me more than him. I'm worried he wont feel loved. I let him cry it out in our bed this morning while I laid beside him curled up in fetal position wanting to cry it out with him. I made sure he was well fed, clean diaper, no fever and all swaddled up before I let him just cry. It HURTS. Nothing hurts more than hearing your baby cry. But better now, than later, right? I cant always be there to pick him up and comfort him. Crossing my fingers and hoping this is the right thing for us. I decided this week was the week to let him cry because I now know he is fully fed and there is nothing wrong with him since we just went to the doctor.

This guy absolutely hates to be swaddled which is the exact opposite of everything I read and was taught in the baby basics class. He likes to sleep like this:

The only problem with letting him sleep like this is he will startle himself awake. I love this little guy so much!

Birth Story and Updates

Be warned....this will be a long post. I want to remember all the tiny little details!

I took the week before Grayson's due date off from work. But the little man wasnt ready to make an appearance yet. He wasnt ready the following week either. The doctor finally set an induction date for July 9, 2011. I sat around for two weeks doing nothing. By that point, it was so hard for me to get around. It was so hot outside too! Looking back, I am so grateful for those two weeks of nothing. The anticipation was killing me. I couldnt decide what was better, for him to come any time or to keep waiting for that Saturday. I'm glad he waited though because my doctor was the one to deliver the little man.

My last doctor's appointment was Thursday, the 7th. I was only dilated .5cm, same as the week before. At the appointment, we got everything set up for the induction and they said the hospital would be calling me on Friday to let me know what time to come in. We sat around all day Friday and finally was told to come in at 10pm that night. On the way to the hospital, we stopped by my parents to drop off Chloe. The drive from my parents house to the hospital was quiet. All kinds of thoughts were going through my head. I didnt know what to expect. I was scared yet excited at the same time. I couldnt believe it was happening! We checked in at Labor and Delivery at Presby Dallas and was taken upstairs. I was not prepared for what was going to happen next. It was the absolute worst pain I have ever experienced, worse than birth, worse than recovery. The nurse had to insert cervidil to help dilate my cervix. Between the every two hour nurse visits and my own head racing with all kinds of thoughts, I only got an hour and a half of sleep even with the ambien I was given. I remember I started to feel a little back pain, but just chalked it up to the uncomfortable hospital bed.

At 6:30 am on Saturday, I was taken downstairs to the actual labor and delivery room. At that time, they started the pitocin on me. Only then did I realize that the back pain I felt earlier in the morning were actual contractions. I had thought contractions were going to feel like sharp, intense cramps in your stomach. Mine were in my back. They felt like the back pain you get when you are about to start your period, only they get more intense. We sat around and watched the Today show, Adam read a little and I listened to music. I had not asked for the epidural yet, but then the doctor said I might want to get it now before she broke my water. The epidural did not hurt at all. I remember watching, Real Housewives of New Jersey and hearing Teresa scream bloody murder. When the doctor broke my water, it just felt like I had peed all over myself. Then we waited some more. Finally when I was at a 7, the nurse flipped me to my side. Apparently that worked, because shortly there after, I was pressing the nurses button telling them I felt a lot of pressure and the need to push. The nurse came and checked on me and I was at a 10! Around 1 pm, we began pushing. Adam was by my side cheering me on! Shortly after I began pushing, the doctor also came in and joined us. I loved my l&d nurse and the fact that my doctor was there for most of the pushing. It was so helpful! In between contractions, we would talk about lake houses, the doctor moving, dogs, the nurses kids, etc etc. I would have to break up the conversations to let them know I was ready to push. It was strange, but definitely helped pass time. After about an 1 hour-ish of pushing, the doctor got her gear on and four other nurses joined us. At 2:22 pm, Grayson finally made his appearance! I cant even describe with words the emotions I was feeling. After the doctor and all the nurses left, we got to spend the next hour, just the three of us. It was the best feeling in the world.

After they took Grayson to get cleaned, reality set in. I was in pain. The epidural actually started to wear off a little on my right side before Grayson came. I didnt want to move. I was so hungry, but I didnt have an appetite. My family came and visited and their excitement was just priceless. Later that night, the nurse finally gave me an ultimatum....pee within the next two hours or we would use a catheter. I decided it was time to drink everything in sight. The rest of the hospital stay was a blur. I was still in pain and nurses were coming in every couple of hours to check in. I tried to get as much sleep as possible, but I was so in awe of the little guy. By Monday, we were ready to get out of there. 3 nights in a hospital was enough.

Updates will have to be posted later. The little guy demands a lot of attention!

40 weeks 4 days

We woke up this morning thinking this was going to be the last time we wake up in this house with just the two of us. It was a weird feeling. Didnt think I would have to wait this long to meet our little one! I think waiting is probably the hardest part. Right now, we're waiting for the hospital to call to let us know what time to head in tonight. I've been waiting at home for 2 weeks. Excited, scared, anxious.....I'm feeling all kinds of emotions. We're ready. We're ready to meet the little one. We're ready to start this next chapter. One last belly pic:

Tonight we head to the hospital. Hopefully tomorrow we will have a baby. Praying that everything goes smoothly.

And so we wait....

39 weeks and counting....
I look like I am about to pop! We went to the doctor's yesterday and everything is looking good. The doctor mentioned getting induced if Baby P doesnt make an appearance on his own. I like the idea for two reasons: (1) its a set appointment and (2) my doctor will deliver Baby P instead of whoever is on call from the practice. So even though I cant wait to meet Baby P, we keep telling him to just wait until the following weekend.

Since I'm not working, I'm trying to find things to fill my days up, but I know I should just be taking it easy. Any day now, our lives will change forever and there will be someone else calling the shots around this household. I keep telling myself to just relax and take it easy. Besides, there's not much you can do when its been 100 degrees outside. I hate Texas heat.

37 weeks and an emotional mess

Here I am at 37 weeks:
I think I am ready for him to be here. Everything is just so uncomfortable these days. Getting up from a chair, switching from left to right side when I sleep. You should see how many pillows are on our bed.....6 plus one couch pillow to give my legs a little elevation. Did I mention how hot it was outside???? Geez, I feel bad for all the women delivering in July and
August. I am also exhausted. I took about a 3 hr nap Sunday, a 2 hour nap Monday and a hour nap when I got home from work yesterday.

We took a baby basics class week. Thats Adam learning how
to burp the baby. I'm pretty sure we've both forgotten everything we learned already. The class was just way to long on a weeknight.

I've been a little bit of an emotional mess these days. I hate being emotional. I hate crying. i dont think I've been crazy hormonal throughout the pregnancy...maybe just the last few weeks. I think it started when Adam and I were at this place called, Torchy's Tacos. I had been thinking about something and brought it up to Adam and started crying at the restaurant. A couple of weeks ago at my friends wedding, I started to cry when I saw the little tots walking down the aisle. This past week, was just crazy. I cry when I'm walking to the bathroom, when I'm watching tv, its a mess! Sunday night, a couple from the church hosted a mini parenting session and I cant tell you how many times I had to bite my tongue and gulp down water to prevent the tears from flowing. One thing they went over was that it was okay to be sad about how your marriage was going to be different now. I've been feeling guilty for awhile for being sad that it wasnt just going to be Adam and I anymore. I thought I was being selfish for feeling that way. Good to know that I'm not the only one feeling that way.

Cant wait to add the little one into the picture!!!! ♥

35 weeks

I went to the doctor's office for my checkup today. Everything is looking good and I've been upgraded now to weekly doctor office visits. I am measuring full term. I cant believe it! Baby P is going to be here soon!!!!! I'm ready to meet him, but I'm also not ready for the labor and recovery part! I cant believe this miracle that has been growing inside of me is going to be here in a few weeks!!!!! Even though I've been carrying Baby P for 35 weeks, its still so hard for me to believe that there is a little one inside of me. It really is a miracle that we've been blessed with.

Summer is basically here. It's so dang hot. I am miserable! My feet are so swollen and anytime I go somewhere thats not a nice 68 degrees, I am sweating. How disgusting is that? Just a few more weeks of back aches, swollen feet and fingers, sweating, running to the bathroom every 10 mins and feeling like the fattest person in the world!

We got me a mommy car! I wish I hadnt fought Adam about getting a car a few months back. Getting in and out of an SUV is SO much easier! I have so much more room! The only downside is the miles per gallon that I am getting. That is going to take some getting use too!

Looking at my calendar for June stresses me out. We have 3 baby classes, my mom's birthday, my dad's birthday, father's day, a shower, crazy work schedule the last two weeks of June, last minute baby things....all while knowing Baby P could decide to make his debut at any time!

Panic Attack

A couple weekends ago, we went out to eat with our neighbors who also have a tiny little tot. They showed me how their car sit fit in their nice big 4 door sedan and I quickly realized I better order the car seat to see if it will fit in my car. Not quite sure this is what you would call a comfortable fit:We installed it Saturday and immediately started car shopping that afternoon.

I've also been searching for some bedding that I like for the past couple of months. I finally found some today that I liked, but they are out of stock everywhere!!! They are expecting to get them back in stock in June. I hope I can get it in time! I get why people get started early. My goal is to have everything I might need for the first month purchased by this week.

Here are some pictures of Baby P at 31.5 weeks:
Sonogram doctor said Baby P was measuring big (4 lbs 10 ounces), but my doctor, who just uses measuring tape, said I was measuring normal and that sonograms tend to overestimate. Not sure how measuring tape is more reliable than a sonogram, but thats just how it is. The sonogram doctor said, "I just want you to be aware that you could be giving birth to a big baby." Great. I hope my doctor is right and that they were overestimating!

31 weeks

I cant believe I have 9 weeks left. Thats 63 days! Anxiety and nerves are kicking it up a notch and I am having sleepless night. This baby that has been with me for the past 7 months is coming out eventually and there are only 2 ways out! It's such a weird feeling to know that in just a short time, Adam and I are going to be parents to a tiny little baby.

Adam finally put the crib together! Only now I'm being told, babies should sleep next to you when you first bring them home to make life a little easier. So now I need to consider a bassinet or sleeping on the non-existent glider in the baby's room. At least I dont have to worry about sheets for awhile.

A little shark bath towel and shoes I bought Baby P:We have a dresser that matches, but we didnt put it together yet. Adam noticed a slight crack in the wood so I called Amazon and told them about it. No problems! They are sending a new one right away and will also pick up the damaged one. I heart Amazon.com! No tax and if you sign up for Amazon mom, which is free, you get free shipping on everything! Also, you have up to a year to return items from their baby store.

Adam and I headed southbound I-35 this past weekend to Austin. First thing we did was visit a food truck park:

This one was called Love Balls, which served Japanese street food. It was yum! Then I had some fish & chip:And then, no trip to Austin is complete without a stop by Amy's Ice cream:And thats all the pictures I took of Austin. You dont really feel picture worthy when you're pregnant walking around outside sweating in 90 degree weather. Austin was great! Adam and I got to relax. I got to visit with a good friend and we got to see his family.

Here I am at 31 weeks:
