It's a Party!

This post will be a hodge podge of randomness. Let me start by explaining the above note. The little one has had an increase of movement this week. It feels like he is constantly moving even though I know it cant be true. My mom and relatives have told me that when I was in her belly, I couldnt stay still either. They also later told me that growing up, I couldnt sit still for anything, not even cartoons. So I hope the little one gets it out of his system so he comes out a calm little baby.

Dont you love it when people want to give you unwanted advice? Being pregnant comes with some unwanted attention from strangers. For example, I've had strangers rub my belly! I get that friends want to rub the belly, but c'mon, how would you like it if I rubbed your belly back stranger. Out of my comfort zone. People also love to ask questions....when are you due, where are you having the baby, are you excited and are you doing this and that. I expect that normal people would love to talk about the baby, but for me, its a little out of my comfort zone. I run away from small talk like its the plague. 99% of the time, I come off as bitchy, but its just me being quiet because I dont like to make small talk and for some reason it scares me. Now with a close friend its completely different, I could probably talk your ear off. So there is this old couple that works in my building and I think they are the type to know whats going on with EVERYONE's business. When I got engaged, they would constantly ask me about the wedding. When I got married, they started to ask how married life was and when we're going to have kids. I get that its genuine kindness, but it freaks me out because usually I'd have nothing more to say other than married life is great and then they would just stare at me expecting more. So I tend to avoid this couple. If I see them at the elevator, I take the stairs. Do you know how hard stairs are when you are pregnant?!? If I see the wife go to bathroom, I go to one on another floor. It maybe a little extreme, but I just dont want to talk. The other day, I ran into the wife and she started blasting the questions away.

Wife: "OMG, You're just getting so big!"
Me: "I know, crazy huh?"
Wife: "Where are you having the baby?"
Me: "At blah blah blah...."
Wife: "Oh, thats such a great hospital. Thats where my daughter had her baby." Then she proceeds to go on and on about the hospital.
Me: "Oh great" ( I didnt really have a choice. My doctor delivers there and I am very comfortable with my doctor and I am not about to change)
Wife: "Are you taking lamaze classes?"
Me: (thinking in my head) They still call it that? " No, my doctor told me I didnt need to."
Wife: GASP & BLANK STARE! " Are you serious?!?! Well, I took it with my three kids and my daughter did it too!"
Me: "Ok. Well, I've asked around and I've gotten mixed reviews. Oh I should go back to work now"

Her reaction to me not taking the child birthing class totally blew me away. I wish you could have seen the look of crazy she gave me!

Finally, this is the dinner I made the other night:
Pork chops with sweet and russet potatoes and a salad. Recipe modified from here. By the way, I almost started a fire in our house making the pork chops. It calls for wine and when I poured a cup of wine into the the pan, a huge flame burst. I've seen it on tv, but its never happened to me before. Of course, I just stood there and stared in amazement. Luckily, water was the next thing that needed to go in and the fire went out. Whew! I'm not sure I want to cook with wine anymore.......
